4th Leeds Classic Bus Run Day

We confirm that the Leeds running day will take place on Sunday 20th August 2017. The event will be based at the Thwaites Mill complex and will run via Middleton Railway, Leeds bus station, (New York St.) Leeds railway station, (stop Z1) and Armley Industrial Museum. Returning via Leeds city centre, New York Street and terminating at Thwaites Mill.

Intensive operation is the name of the game this year and deletion of the Kirkstall Abbey and Temple Newsome routes mean lots more city centre running. An increased timetable, with up to eight vehicles on the road at any one time gives the enthusiast plenty of opportunities to sample a wide variety of Leeds vehicles in their home environment. Operations start at 10 30 am

We have been promised a wide variety of vehicles, subject of course to them being operational on the day and this should provide an interesting journey back in time to the Leeds before and after deregulation.

At Thwaites Mill we will have a small static display of ancillary vehicles, Keighley and Dewsbury bus museum stalls and hopefully the launch of a new book on WYPTE vehicles.

Light refreshment and toilet facilities are available at every stop and of course the city centre is only moments away.

A programme will be available on the day from the bus crews or the dispatchers and inspectors at the intermediate stops.

Please support the railway and museums anyway you can, they have been very enthusiastic to our coming. Please respect the vehicles you are traveling on, take care out on the roads but above all have a very enjoyable day.
